Starting to use TakomaTime

Login with your username and password to:

  • Post offers, skills, talents, or services that you can offer other members.

  • Post requests for services or skills you need.

  • Record any exchanges that you may already have made with other timebank members.

Request help by clicking on the envelope icon in the menu in the upper right corner, and sending a message to a TakomaTime coordinator.

You can reach the help guide by clicking on the "?" in the menu in the upper right corner of any page.

TakomaTime does not do background checks or require references. Please take normal precautions before allowing someone you don't know into your home or sharing personal information with strangers. Ask for references from another member you know and trust. This is particularly true when leaving children and other vulnerable people alone with someone you don't know. Even in Takoma, not everyone is perfect.

Ongoing Use of the TimeBank

  • Don't hesitate to respond to an offer or request. This is exactly how new sharing and relationships are built to strengthen our community.

  • Please respond in a timely manner to calls or emails you receive from your neighbors about the requests or offers you've posted. You are not obligated to fulfill a request if it isn't convenient but do reply that you are not available at a particular time. Not receiving a reply is the main reason people leave timebanks.

  • After you've determined that an exchange is appropriate, make specific arrangements (date and time) for the exchange.

  • When the exchange is completed either party can record it and both of your timebank balances.

  • Return often to review offers and requests from other members, and to update your own.

Repeated use of TakomaTime will keep our community alive and flourishing.

Happy exchanging,

Sharon Villines and Simone Lima, coordinators
